YOURMD TOOL GUIDE / HEART HEALTH

Cardiovascular Risk Calculator & Visit Preparation

The YourMD cardiovascular risk tool uses the Framingham approach to estimate 10-year risk. Its inputs include age, cholesterol, blood pressure, and lifestyle factors. An estimate can help frame questions; it is not a diagnosis or a treatment plan.

Collect your information

Have recent cholesterol results and blood-pressure readings available. Use the units requested by the calculator and avoid guessing values you do not know.

Bring context to a visit

Tell your clinician about your medicines, smoking history, family history, and the changes you want to discuss. Bring the original measurements as well as the calculator estimate.

Considering a telehealth consultation?

Use the intake form to explain that you want to discuss cardiovascular risk or an existing treatment plan. Clinical eligibility and the need for in-person testing are assessed by the care team.
